Dorah Zalwango, NP

Commonwealth Medical Practice is pleased to welcome Dorah Zalwango, FNP-C, to our team. Dorah is a dedicated and highly skilled certified nurse practitioner with over 14 years of nursing experience across a variety of healthcare settings, including home health, long-term care, rehabilitation, and assisted living facilities.

Dorah earned her Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) degree from Regis College in December 2023, following a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from Salem State University. Her extensive clinical background includes working as a visiting nurse at M&L Prodigy Healthcare, where she conducted comprehensive patient assessments, developed personalized care plans, and provided patient education on diagnoses and medication management. Additionally, she has held supervisory roles in senior living facilities, overseeing resident care, staff training, and clinical operations.

Her clinical training as an advanced practice provider spans pediatrics, adult primary care, geriatrics, and community health, with hands-on experience at institutions such as Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Sudbury Pediatrics, and Rosie’s Place Women’s Shelter. Dorah is particularly passionate about preventive care, chronic disease management, and patient education.

At Commonwealth Medical Practice, Dorah will be supporting and working under the supervision of Dr. Smita Chaudhari and Dr. Mohammed Jaleel, collaborating closely to provide high-quality, patient-centered care.

She is an active member of the Massachusetts Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and holds certifications in Intravenous Therapy, Alzheimer’s Disease and Dementia Care, and Basic Life Support (BLS). Fluent in English and Luganda, with basic proficiency in Swahili, she is committed to delivering compassionate and culturally competent care to a diverse patient population.
